New Snooker & Pool Room Opened by Lord Mayor of Leeds

A brand new space for our team to unwind

We have recently unveiled our new Snooker & Pool Room, a space for our team to unwind and enjoy a game of snooker or pool whilst also testing our popular cue sports fabrics.

This new facility will allow us to assess the performance and durability of one of our most popular products. Our team will conduct the testing through gameplay, ensuring that the cloth meets the highest standards.

The testing process will examine various factors, including the cloth’s response to different playing styles, its resilience to wear and tear, and its overall longevity. By encouraging our employees to play, we will replicate real-world scenarios, providing invaluable insights that contribute to the continuous improvement of our products.

We were honoured to welcome the Lord Mayor of Leeds, Councillor Al Garthwaite, to officially open the room. The Lord Mayor, alongside the High Sheriff of West Yorkshire, Zulfi Karim DL, also went on a comprehensive mill tour and met employees at different stages of our manufacturing process.

We first met the Lord Mayor and High Sheriff as part of our recent Royal Visit, so it was nice to welcome them back to the mill with more time to show them around.

Our range of napped wool cloth is created from the finest Merino wool manufactured for durable wear and performance with a precise directional nap finish. It is using these techniques that has made Hainsworth snooker cloth the specified choice for generations of world-class professional players, and now for the Hainsworth team as well.

The new room is used by people from all different departments around the business, enabling them to hone their skills on the world’s fastest cloth.

Managing Director Amanda McLaren expressed her enthusiasm for the new room, highlighting its pivotal role in maintaining the company’s position as a leader in the industry.
She remarked: “The investment in this Snooker and Pool room underscores our unwavering commitment to delivering top-tier products. By encouraging our employees to play for testing purposes, we ensure that our snooker and pool fabric meets and exceeds the expectations of our discerning customers. We are also providing our team with another way to decompress, have fun at work and socialise with colleagues”.
